The story behind the name
A tiny village.
A lesson that changed everything.
Kayeta is the name of a village in Côte d'Ivoire. It's where my grandparents lived — and where, as a child navigating a difficult home, I learned what grace looks like in real life.
They didn't have much. But my twin sister and I never felt that. What we felt was safety. Warmth. The kind of love that doesn't come with conditions.
Years later, I'm in Switzerland. And I keep thinking about the families out there carrying wounds they don't know how to heal. Marriages holding on by a thread. Children waiting for a parent to come home. People who need to forgive — but don't know how to start.
So I built Kayeta. Because the stories that saved me deserve to be told.
They lived it."
